How do I create a blog?

Blogs are the best way to keep websites readers visiting your new updated content on regular basis. Highlighted below are few tips, tools and technique to help you create your first blog:

i. Research
Search the internet for blogs that attracted your attention. Visit blog directories and search engines such as Google, Blog search and Technorati to mention but a few. This is to introduce or enlightens you about what other people are doing with their blogs.

ii. Define your goals for creating a blog
A successful blog takes much planning and must be in line with your desired goals. Check on other blogs related to your area of interest, to determine what you like and dislike. This will assist you from differentiating yourself from the mainstream.

iii. Select the content and tone of your blog
There are variety of blogs ranging from personal to professional. Probably the best tone for your blog is being professional since it is a representation of your opinion even sometimes informal.

There are thousand and one free blog software on the internet, the key is to found one that suits your needs. Most blog software such as blogger.com is based on templates, without the blogger having to know Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML). Many of these templates allow you to customize the look and feel of your blog by adding your logo or links to other blogs or websites. v. Schedule your Posts
It is very important for you to keep updating your blog on regular basis. Select a specific timing and stick to that for updating your blog. Blogs are meant to be both entertaining and educational. Keep your posts short and simple for at least 200 to 300 words per post. It is also good for you to write two or three posts in advance so that you keep updating your visitors. ix. Tracking your blog readership
Blogs take time and effort but they worth the effort if they can rake-in additional income for you and fit with your goals as well as your targeted audience. There are tools such as Google Analytics (free)that allow you to track visits to your blog, so that you can see hoe many visit you had, where they came from and which blog entries they visited.
